As a motovlogger, I’m always looking for better gear to capture my rides. Right now, I use the GoPro Hero 11 and the Insta360 X4. both solid cameras, but they struggle in low light or at night.
That’s why I’ve been eyeing cameras with bigger sensors, like the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 and the DJI Action 5. But now, with the leaks about the DJI Action 6, I might just have to rethink my next purchase.
🚨 What’s Going On
DJI is preparing to launch its next-generation action camera, the Osmo Action 6, with a global event confirmed for November 18, 2025. While the camera has not been officially released yet, early leaks and teasers have already created a buzz across the tech and motovlogging community.
A few leaked photos of the camera are now circulating online, giving a first look at the design and lens setup. I will include one of those images below so you can see what has been spotted.

Even more interesting, on November 4, 2025, DJI uploaded a teaser video on their official YouTube channel showing a lens with a variable aperture. The design looks strikingly similar to that of an action camera, which makes it very likely we are looking at the upcoming Osmo Action 6.
Official DJI teaser released on November 4, 2025.

🌙 Why It Matters for Motovloggers
The bigger sensor and variable aperture could make this camera a true game-changer for riders filming at night or during low-light trips. The ability to switch aperture means more control over brightness and motion blur, something no GoPro or Insta360 offers right now.
Add RockSteady 4.0 stabilization and AI-based horizon correction, and you get footage that stays buttery smooth even during aggressive cornering or bumpy off-road adventures.
For long rides, hot-swappable batteries and 4-hour runtime mean fewer interruptions, and dual screens make framing easy whether you’re behind the bars or in front of the lens.
The Bottom Line
The DJI Osmo Action 6 could mark a new standard in action cameras, especially for motovloggers who film across day and night. Its combination of large sensor, 8K resolution, variable aperture, and long battery life makes it a serious contender against both GoPro and Insta360.
Thanks to its square-format sensor, creators can easily shoot both YouTube and vertical videos for Instagram or TikTok without rotating the camera. And with its strong low-light performance, night rides, tunnels, and city lights will finally look as cinematic as they should.
If the leaks hold true, this is not just another action cam. It is DJI’s statement that they are ready to take the lead in the adventure content world.
